Enhanced deep-tissue photoacoustics by using microcomposites made of radiofrequency metamaterials and soft polymers: Double- and triple-resonance phenomena

Photoacoustic imaging systems offer a platform with high resolution to explore body tissues, food, and artwork. On the other hand, plasmonics constitutes source of resonant heating thermal expansion generate acoustic waves. However, its associated techniques are seriously limited laser penetration nonspecific hyperthermia in sample. To address this issue, present work adopts paradigm shift photoacoustics. By simulating microparticles made random composites, calculated pressure can be similar or superior that via plasmonic optoacoustics. The improvement is due phenomenon called double triple resonance, which excitation one both electric magnetic plasmons within radiofrequency range simultaneous particle’s mode. Given electromagnetic pulses restricted nanosecond pulse widths MHz frequencies, proposed method overcomes poor tissues reduces damage, thereby offering noninvasive technique theragnosis. Moreover, obtained lasts longer than conventional photoacoustic pressure, providing central feature enhance detection. fully comprehend multi-resonance framework, we develop complete solution. approach could pave way thermoacoustic manipulation methods for sensitive materials micrometer resolution.
